Speculation On The Plans After The ‘Winner Takes All’ Match

Stephanie McMahon announced on RAW that the main event of Wrestlemania 35 will now be ‘Winner Takes All’. That means that Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, or Charlotte Flair will be walking out with both the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Championships.

Following this announcement, many fans have been wondering about the future of the WWE Women’s roster after Wrestlemania.

I wanted to pass along my own speculation on what I think WWE will do after the event.

A lot of fans are suggesting that WWE is unifying the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Championships. I actually don’t think that they will do that. To me, it seems silly to only have one Women’s Champion that floats between shows. In my opinion, there is enough Women’s talent to support a (main) Title on both brands. I also think that it would be a step back in the Women’s Evolution to only have one main belt for the female roster.

Instead, I think that WWE is just setting us up for a ‘Double Champ’ moment at the end of Wrestlemania 35. For UFC fans, this is similar to when Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier became the Champions of two divisions at once. In both of those scenarios, the Titles didn’t unify. They ended up just vacating one of the belts instead at a later date. I think that WWE will copy this formula, giving Becky Lynch the ‘Double Champ’ moment to close the show. I think that she will eventually vacate one of the Titles and will remain on one brand.

This gives Becky a big moment where she becomes a double Champion to close Wrestlemania. She would be the only person to ever hold the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Titles at the same time, which is pretty cool for her. I also think that keeping both the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Titles alive would be the best thing in the long-term for the Women of WWE.
