On Monday Night RAW this week, a new tag team was formed. Chad Gable and Bobby Roode are now officially teaming together. They defeated the Ascension this week in their first match as a team.
What does the future have in store for the Roode-Gable tag team? Let’s speculate a little bit here.
For the short-term, I think that it works well as a fresh team for the RAW tag division. Let’s face it, the RAW tag team division isn’t exactly firing on all cylinders right now and the more credible teams the better. I could see Roode and Gable working very well together for a few months.
Long-term though, I see this tag team being the vehicle that finally gives us a Bobby Roode heel turn. I think that many fans would agree that Roode would be much better suited as a heel. I think that WWE will get fans behind Gable and Roode for a few months before the heel turn ultimately comes.
Long-term, my guess is that WWE will be putting Gable back with Jason Jordan (when he returns from injury). Tagging with Roode for the short-term and eventually feuding with him will be a nice showcase for Gable on WWE Television.
I think that it makes sense for Bobby too. Roode currently has no momentum, so a heel turn right now would be a bit pointless. I think that it makes sense for him and Gable to get fans invested before Roode turns on him. This way, they can maximize the heat for Roode’s turn moving forward.
In conclusion, I see this tag team leading to a Roode heel turn down the road.
