Dean Ambrose made his return to Monday Night RAW this week. He had been out of action since December of 2017 after suffering a triceps injury. Dean came to the aid of Seth Rollins and received a massive pop from the crowd.
So now that Dean is back, what are the long-term plans for him? Let’s speculate a little bit.
Now that Dean is back, I think that we will be seeing him team with Seth for the next few months. I have seen some fans speculate that he will be turning on Seth at Summerslam but I don’t think that will be the case. There are still plenty of stories to tell with Seth and Dean as allies and I don’t think that WWE has to rush into things.
While saying that, I do still think that we are eventually going to see Dean turning on Seth at some point over the next several months. My gut says that WWE was planning Seth vs (heel) Dean at Wrestlemania 34 before the injury happened to Dean. I think that we could still see that same story play out but one year later at Wrestlemania 35. We have seen Dean vs Seth plenty of times but never with Dean as the heel. I would enjoy seeing that dynamic and I think it would be a great Wrestlemania match.
There is also the chance that WWE doesn’t want any of the Shield members to turn heel in order to do more Shield matches over the next several months. If that is the case, we could see Dean and Seth remain as allies.
My gut says that we are getting Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 35.
