Kurt Angle, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Jeff Hardy have all been confirmed as participants in the upcoming WWE World Cup. This will be an 8-person tournament that will take place at the WWE Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia.
Who will be the final 4 participants in the match? Let’s speculate a little bit here.
Let’s start with a qualifying match that has already been confirmed
Rey Mysterio and Shinsuke Nakamura will face off at Smackdown 1000 in a World Cup qualifying match. Based on WWE using older Superstars in this World Cup so far, I think Rey Mysterio is a pretty safe bet. Plus, I doubt WWE would have him lose his first match back.
So what about the final 3 spots?
My first pick is Finn Balor. He is doing nothing on RAW right now and would be a great choice. I think it would be good for him to be involved in a tournament like this with some of the top (older) stars in WWE.
I am also going with Andrade Almas as another International talent. Vince McMahon is rumored to be extremely high on him so maybe he puts him in this spot? WWE can’t have all Americans in this thing, so he would work as another International talent alongside Balor.
My final pick is Bobby Lashley after his recent heel turn. My gut says that he is going to be involved here.
That would leave the participants as Kurt Angle, John Cena, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Andrade Almas, and Bobby Lashley. That is how I see it going. What about you? Let me know in the comment section below.
On a related note, here are 24 countries that could technically be represented in this World Cup if WWE wanted.
WWE won’t book Almas for the show because Zelina Vega couldn’t come with him. I guarantee Almas stays home from Saudi Arabia.
