Some Interesting Notes From WWE’s Announcement Of Smackdown Moving To Fox

WWE sent out a press release on Tuesday to officially announce that Smackdown Live will be moving over to FOX in 2019. Here are some interesting notes from the press release.

– The first FOX episode of Smackdown will be on October 4th, 2019.

– October 4th is a Friday, which officially confirms Smackdown changing nights from Tuesday to Friday.

– The show seems to be remaining live instead of taped. The press release says “the weekly, two-hour live event will air 52 weeks a year”.

– WWE is now referring to Smackdown as its “flagship” show. This is something that we often hear WWE describe about Monday night RAW. Here is a quote from the release:

“For the first time, every Friday night beginning October 4, 2019, FOX broadcast network will air WWE’s flagship program SmackDown LIVE as part of a new five-year agreement with FOX Sports”

Looks like Smackdown is going to be the ‘A’ Show.
