This weeks episode of Smackdown Live featured the first ever, Kevin Owens – ‘Face of America’ Open Challenge….

His opponent? Gary Gandy aka a local enhancement talent. Owens made quick work of Gandy, hitting him with a pop-up powerbomb almost right away.

12) The United States Title Is Being Elevated

The main event of Smackdown Live was a match between Baron Corbin and AJ Styles. United States Champion: Kevin Owens was on commentary.

WWE is slowly building up the prestige of the United States Title with it main-eventing Smackdown for the past 2 weeks. AJ Styles defeated Corbin via count-out to end the show.

The feud between Owens and AJ will do wonders for the U.S title. Would anyone be upset if KO vs AJ main evented over Randy vs Jinder? I can’t say that I would.
