Santino Marella Says There Is No Reason Fans Should Boo Roman Reigns

The greatest moments from Santino Marella in the WWE.

Santino Marella recently made news for being one of several stars released from their WWE contracts a couple weeks ago. Santino had recently said that he was surprised about his release, even though he only had occasionally appeared on WWE television over the past couple years. Santino recently spoke with Under the Mat Radio about a wide variety of topics. One of these topics was the crowd reaction that Roman Reigns has been receiving. Marella argues that fans shouldn’t boo Reigns and if they do, they are only jealous.

Here is what he said:

“Sometimes the fans should just enjoy the product, if you spend your time as a fan wishing it was something different you’re not going to have a good experience. Roman Reigns is awesome – people are silly – he looks the part, he’s a great human being, he’s a locker room leader. There should be no reason people are booing him unless they jealous of his hair or something lol. He speaks up, he’s an independent man, and he’s a stud” (Source: Under The Mat Radio).

I think Santino has it wrong here. I think fans boo Reigns because of the way he has been booked. I don’t think people are jealous, only upset he has been shoved down their throats as the top guy.

I personally have been a big fan of Reigns in his feud so far with AJ Styles. I think he is really showing improvement on the mic and in the ring. I am very invested in their upcoming match at WWE Extreme Rules.

    • Over this past several Raws, he’s been used in 1 “promo”segment & 1 match weekly. How is he being shoved down our throats?

      • I don’t necessarily feel that way personally but some feel he was pushed as the top guys before he was ready (in the ring wise) to warrant it. as a result he was shoved down fans throats as the main event guy when his in ring talent didn’t match
