Rumor Roundup: WWE’s TV Partner Unhappy, Note On Pete Dunne’s Future, More

3) Update On WWE’s Relationship With Full Sail University

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, the rumors are not true that WWE’s relationship with Full Sail University is ending.

Here is what Johnson wrote:

Numerous WWE sources have reached out to PWInsider.com over the last 24 hours to relay that reports that the company’s relationship with Full Sail University has ended are incorrect.  There are no plans to tape at Full Sail as long as the pandemic continues, but the door is open to return down the line when restrictions ease up.  There are still FSU students who are regularly working all aspects of WWE NXT tapings.

My Take:

  • Full Sail is a big part of NXT’s history, so I am glad to hear this.

2) The Original Plans For Becky Lynch At Summerslam

According to Andrew Zarian on the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, Becky Lynch was always scheduled to appear at Summerslam. While saying that, Becky winning the Smackdown Women’s Championship from Bianca Belair was a very last minute decision.

Here is what Johnson wrote:

“I was told this was not gonna be the ending, obviously. She was gonna show up on this card. Becky Lynch was always gonna come out for this live crowd. That was not something that was last minute. The title change was the difference, that was something new. That was not planned…that was an adjustment, they made it and we’ll see where it goes on Friday.”

My Take:

  • My guess is that Becky would have confronted Sasha after she won the Title from Bianca. She also might have just been planned to confront Bianca or Charlotte Flair.
