Rumor Roundup: WWE’s Plans For Jeff Hardy, Big Appearance Scrapped From Wrestlemania, More

1) The Plans For Jeff Hardy

On Smackdown this week, WWE aired a video package for Jeff Hardy. According to a new rumor, this is the start of a big push for Jeff on the blue brand.

According to a report from WrestlingNews.co, Vince McMahon is trying to convince Jeff to re-sign with WWE. This comes after his brother, Matt Hardy, recently jumped to AEW.

Here is an excerpt from their report:

I am told that this is the start of a big push for Hardy, who has almost a year left with the company due to time added on his contract because of his injury time off.

Vince McMahon is said to be impressed with Hardy’s determination to get clean. Hardy went into inpatient rehab for the first time in his life in late 2019 after relapsing.

McMahon also wants to show Hardy that he will be treated well and that WWE is the better option for him. Hardy will likely get big money contract offers to stay away from All Elite Wrestling.

My Take:

  • It will be interesting to watch Jeff over the next few months. Could they push him into the Universal Title picture with Roman Reigns likely out for a while? He is a strong babyface and could fit in nicely at the top of the card. We will have to wait and see.
