Rumor Roundup: WWE’s New Promotion Tactic For Drew McIntyre, The Current Status Of NXT UK, More

3) New Catchphrase For AJ Styles?

WWE has released some merchandise for AJ Styles with a new catchphrase. His new shirt on WWE Shop reads: “ASAP – AJ Styles Always Phenomenal.”

Here is a photo of the new shirt with the catchphrase on it:

You can buy the shirt here on WWE Shop.

My Take:

  • I am not sure how I feel about this. Seems a bit corny to me but we will have to wait and see if he uses it on television.

2) WWE Has Changed Their Attitude About AEW

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is no longer worried about AEW signing their Superstars.

Due to COVID-19, WWE doesn’t consider Superstars going to AEW as the threat that they did a few months ago:

“They know it’s not one of those situations like it was a couple of months ago when somebody might go and help the opposition right now. I mean, they’re not concerned with that anymore. I mean, that’s the situation.”

My Take:

  • This does make sense as AEW likely won’t want to sign every WWE Superstar that gets released. I know that Tony Khan has a lot of money but it doesn’t seem like a good business move during a pandemic to tie up a ton of money in salary.
