Rumor Roundup: WWE’s Interesting Offer To Matt Hardy, Matches Not Happening At Wrestlemania 36, More

1) WWE’s Interesting Offer To Matt Hardy

Mike Johnson of PWInsider was recently asked about Matt Hardy’s future. During this, Johnson made some comments about WWE’s recent discussions with Matt Hardy, whose contract is set to expire on March 1st.

According to Johnson, WWE has offered Hardy a chance to work in NXT if he re-signs with the company. Here is what he said (h/t to Ringside News for the quote below):

“By the way we have had a lot of questions about Matt Hardy. His contract is scheduled to be up on March 1st which is this Sunday. A lot of people have asked me what he’s going to be doing, this is just my theory. I know that WWE has made a lot of overtures to him in the last couple of weeks. There’s been some talk of him working in the NXT system somehow. My gut feeling is that Matt Hardy will probably stay.”

Matt also played into these rumors on Twitter (what’s NeXT?):

My Take:

  • Matt to NXT would be an interesting move. I would actually love to see the Hardy Boyz both go to NXT to help bolster the tag team division. It could be fun to see Matt and Jeff against The Undisputed Era, The BroserWeights, and more.
