Rumor Roundup: WWE’s Condition To Grant The Revival Their Releases, Title Match Planned At MITB, More

3) WWE’s Unique Way Of Doing Commentary For NXT

According to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, WWE has changed the way they are recording commentary for NXT. Mauro Ranallo and Beth Phoenix have actually been recording their commentary from the comfort of their own homes.

Here is what Satin wrote:

Sources confirms WWE’s production team put together a way for Ranallo and Phoenix to record from home in an effort to keep them as integral parts of the show on commentary while limiting the amount of travel they’d need to do for the time being.

We’re told this was able to be done with the NXT announcers because they appear on-screen less than the Raw and SmackDown commentary teams, which is why Tom Phillips joined them at the virtual announce desk from the taping.

My Take:

  • This is actually really cool that WWE can do this. I have to wonder if it will start happening for episodes of RAW and Smackdown as well. It makes a lot of sense as another way to keep the talent safe during these times.

2) WWE Executive Sells Over $1 Million In WWE Stock

According to an SEC filing on April 29th, Kevin Dunn sold 33,000 ‘Class A’ shares in WWE. It was sold at $45.36 a share, which means that the value of the stock was approximately $1,496,000.

Kevin Dunn still owns 125,361 shares in the company after this sale. Still, this has led to speculation that he could be thinking about leaving WWE. That is because WWE’s previous co-Presidents, George Barrios and Michelle Wilson, unloaded a similar amount of shares before they were fired.

My Take:

  • There are a lot of fans who dislike Kevin Dunne, so they will be happy to read this rumor.
