Rumor Roundup: WWE’s Back-Up Plan In Case Of A Shut Down, Kofi Kingston’s Absence, More

3) Update On Summerslam

According to @Wrestlevotes, WWE management met on Friday to finalize their plans for Summerslam.

The account says there was “desperation to land a location” away from the WWE Performance Center but it has turned out to be a difficult task:

My Take:

  • I can’t lie, my hopes were up after the Summerslam on a boat or beach rumors. The show being at the Performance Center will be a let down.

2) An Emergency Back-Up Plan In Place For Seth Rollins

According to journalist Tom Colohue, WWE has an emergency back-up in place for Seth Rollins. That would be Seth feuding with Murphy.

Here is what Colohue wrote:

“There is an emergency backup situation that being Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy as a potential feud. That’s why they teased it this week, but they could very easily just abandon that completely.”

My Take:

  • My guess is that they have this in their back pocket in case Rey Mysterio doesn’t re-sign or if a bunch of people get sick. It seems smart to have a back-up plan in case things go wrong.
