Rumor Roundup: WWE To Work With Another Promotion? New WWE Show? More

3) Update On MVP

It looks like fans should not expect to see MVP back in the ring for a while still. During a recent Spanish interview, MVP revealed that his knee injury has not healed yet.

Here is what he said (via Fightful):

“As many of you know, my knee has been bothering me for some time now. I injured it a few months ago in the ring and while it’s better, it hasn’t healed yet. We’ve been trying to avoid surgery. We’re gonna try one more procedure and if it still doesn’t work, then I might have to get some minor arthroscopic surgery for the knee. But, not yet. We’re still gonna try another treatment first.”

My Take:

  • MVP is still great in his role as Lashley’s manager. This isn’t a big deal other than MVP not being able to get physically involved in storylines.

2) WWE To Work With Another Promotion?

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is in talks to potentially work with MLW (Major League Wrestling). The idea would be for some of the WWE developmental talent to work for MLW in order to gain some experience.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

We’ll see if this goes somewhere, but WWE doesn’t like the rep that it doesn’t work with anyone in the modern wrestling world. They are in talks with MLW and it’s along the lines of the old Evolve deal or to a degree the 90s ECW deal. The idea is to get some of the developmental guys who aren’t working on NXT television some work.

My Take:

  • This seems like a smart idea with live events not running right now. The developmental talent need to get some work in, that is outside of the WWE Performance Center.
