Rumor Roundup: WWE To Work With Another Promotion? New WWE Show? More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Adam Pearce’s New Role In WWE

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has provided some insight into Adam Pearce’s new role in WWE. Johnson says that Pearce will be the new Director of Live Events.

Here is what Johnson wrote about Pearce:

In an update on changes behind the scenes within WWE, PWInsider.com reported yesterday that in recent weeks, Adam Pearce has moved up in terms of responsibilities behind the scenes. We confirmed this morning that Pearce’s new title is Director of Live Events.

In the past, that role has usually meant overseeing live events and touring creative and lineups, so it’s another sign that WWE is preparing strategies for returning to the road. This would have been a role previously filled by Michael Hayes, who in recent months, has been working on producing many of the main event matches and angles for Roman Reigns on the Smackdown brand. So, it’s a case of Hayes putting his expertise elsewhere and Pearce moving up the ladder.

PWInsider.com is told that Pearce would also still be producing matches in his new role and overseeing other producers alongside Jason Jordan. We are told that under the new hierarchy, he would fall under John Laurinaitis’ umbrella.

My Take:

  • Happy to hear that Pearce is moving up the ladder. I like him on-screen and he is obviously doing a great job behind-the-scenes as well.

4) Scrapped Ideas For Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green was recently interviewed on Cultaholic’s Straight to Hell podcast. During this, she revealed some of the things that she pitched to the WWE creative team, which were rejected.

This includes Chelsea pitching to become a nun that works for Seth Rollins and Dominik Mysterio’s girlfriend:

“Oh my gosh, I had so many. I had a Daisy Duke character, I had a sexy nun character for The Messiah [Seth Rollins]. Like what would be The Messiah’s follower or worshipper. I pitched to be Dominik’s girlfriend. I pitched so many. One of my favorites that I pitched was being a TRIIconic. So like trying to get in and be with them and do a fake Aussie accent and try and split them up, but have them realize that I’m really the crazy one.”

My Take:

  • Sounds like Chelsea did everything that she could to try and stay on WWE television.
