Rumor Roundup: WWE Superstars Upset With Vince McMahon, Plans For Ronda Rousey In WWE, More

1) WWE Superstars Upset With Vince McMahon

News broke after Smackdown that WWE plans to air RAW, Smackdown and NXT live moving forward. The rumor is that WWE is only allowed a few pre-taped shows (per year) in their television contracts with NBC and FOX. As a result, there is some concern within WWE that the networks will be able to withhold money from them if they don’t produce (weekly) live content.

After the news broke, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful noted that the WWE talent he spoke to were not happy with the decision to go back to live:

Sean Ross Sapp added more on Fightful Select:

Fightful was told that a “very aggressive” Vince McMahon made the decision that their broadcasters pay for live content, and many on the talent roster are unhappy about it. He was at the Friday SmackDown.

My Take:

  • I don’t blame the locker room. If it was me, I would feel uneasy about WWE trying to go back to normal based on the current pandemic that is happening. It will be interesting to see if any guys or girls refuse to work over the next several weeks.
