Rumor Roundup: WWE Redesigning Two Title Belts, WWE’s Feeling About Matt Riddle, More

3) WWE Makes Superstars Re-Shoot Two Segments

According to a report from Wrestling INC, WWE made MVP and Otis re-shoot segments during the recent television taping.

MVP was forced to re-shoot the segment because he called the audience “NXT Superstars”. Otis also had to re-shoot part of his match with King Corbin:

One interesting note from the last television tapings is that MVP referred to the audience as “NXT Superstars” during a promo. Kevin Dunn jumped on the P.A. and stopped him immediately, instructing him to refer to them as “Performance Center recruits”.

WWE also had Otis take 4 spine busters from Baron Corbin during a reshoot of part of their match.

My Take:

  • This is one of the advantages of these taped shows. If someone messes up, WWE can fix it before it airs. I am sure it is annoying for the talent to have to re-shoot it though.

2) Betting Odds For Backlash

Here are the early betting odds for WWE Backlash. The betting favorite has the minus (-) beside their name:

— Asuka -500 vs Nia Jax +300

— Braun Strowman (c) -1000 vs The Miz & John Morrison +550

— Drew McIntyre (c) -900 vs Bobby Lashley +500

— Randy Orton -160 vs Edge +120

My Take:

  • This would indicate no title changes from the top matches, which would make sense. Orton beating Edge would also make sense to set up a third match between them.
