Rumor Roundup: WWE Had To Cancel Special Entrance At Wrestlemania 36, Another Banned WWE Word, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) How Vince McMahon Feels About Otis

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, most of the Otis storyline is coming directly from Vince McMahon.

Vince is said to be a big fan of the Otis character. Here is what Meltzer wrote:

Regarding the Otis/Rose storyline, and Andrea Listenberger, the writer who was released a few weeks ago and credited with it. A lot, perhaps most of the Otis stuff is from Vince McMahon who likes the character. Others have said that Listenberger’s role was in writing the promos, but was not the driving force in the storyline, but she was said to be a good writer. Others have said that there were people on the Smackdown creative team that could have gone to bat for her when the cuts came. Rose has said that she pitched the general idea of the storyline to Vince McMahon.

My Take:

  • This storyline does have Vince McMahon written all over it. This definitely is a good thing for Otis and his future in WWE. I will be interested to see if Otis keeps climbing up the card.

4) Another Banned WWE Word

According to Wrestling INC, “Non-Title” is on the list of banned words and phrases in WWE.

The site says that this has actually been on the internal list of banned words and phrases for several years now, going back as far as 2015.

My Take:

  • This makes sense as to why there was some confusion during the match between The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders on RAW. I don’t see an issue with saying “non-title” but I am also not inside of the brain of Vince McMahon.
