3) Primo Colon’s Future With WWE
During a recent interview, Primo Colon disputed that he failed a WWE drug test. Instead, he says that he didn’t travel back to the United States in order to take a test and WWE suspended him for it.
During this same interview, Primo revealed that his contract with WWE expires in October 2020:
I have a contract with them until October 2020. They can call me and use me if they want. If they don’t want to use me, they still have to pay me. They are using new talent and so is the [rest of the] industry.”
My Take:
- I have to imagine that Primo will be finished with WWE in October. WWE probably won’t bother offering him a contract since they aren’t using him anyways.
2) WWE Reviving Old PPV Name For Live Event Tour
According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWinsider, WWE is branding its live events for January 2020 as ‘WWE New Year’s Revolution Tour’.
New Year’s Revolution was a WWE PPV that ran from 2005-2007. The company hasn’t brought the name back since they stopped running the PPV in 2007.
My Take:
- I have a feeling that we are going to see this more and more from WWE. They will use some of their older PPV names that they own the trademarks for to help them sell more live event tickets. Not a bad strategy to try and get some extra ticket sales based on nostalgia.
