3) Backstage Heat On John Cena
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast, there is some backstage heat on John Cena in WWE. This comes after he apologized to China for calling Taiwan a country.
Here is what Zarian Tweeted:
“This John Cena apology is NOT going over well at WWE right now…”
My Take:
- I am sure Cena doesn’t care if he has any sort of heat in WWE based on his status. Either way though, this situation has been a mess.
2) Backstage Note On Adnan Virk’s Release From WWE
WWE announced on Tuesday that Adnan Virk had been let go from the company. In the official press release, it was noted that this was a mutual decision by Virk and WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, this was a decision made by WWE, despite the “mutual” wording in the press release.
My Take:
- I think WWE made the right call. Virk seems like a talented guy but WWE just wasn’t a great fit for him. Seems like the best thing to just move on and try someone new.
