Rumor Roundup: Why Vince Waited So Long To Bring Live Crowds Back, Plans For Sami Zayn, More

3) More On Drew Gulak’s Contract Negotiations

We noted prior that Drew Gulak has re-signed with WWE. This comes after his contract expired recently. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Drew had made up his mind that he was staying with WWE and didn’t negotiate with other companies.

Here is what he said (h/t to Ringside News for the quote below):

“I know people who tried to book him for future dates because you know he was actually a free agent. He could have been on whatever. He could have been on Double Or Nothing and he… the way he reacted — I guess by the way he reacted when people contacted him they didn’t know he was going back to WWE, but they knew he was going somewhere because he wasn’t interested in anything so it was assumed that he was going to WWE or AEW, but he had already pretty much made up his mind that he wasn’t going anywhere else.”

My Take:

  • This makes sense as Drew has been treated well on Smackdown over the past few weeks. He was likely just waiting for them to give him some more money.

2) Update On The AJ Styles Trade

According to Ringside News, WWE has no plans right now for the “future considerations” part of the AJ Styles trade to Smackdown.

Here is what the site wrote:

It is a “confusing time in WWE, to say the least,” Ringside News was told by a source in the company. At this time there is no word on what “Future Considerations” Vince McMahon has in mind.

We were additionally told that there was no word from Bruce Prichard or Ed Koskey on why Styles was moved over. There is “no word on what the future consideration or considerations will be”

My Take:

  • This would be classic WWE. Make a big decision and figure out how to fix it later.
