Rumor Roundup: Why The Unsanctioned Match Was Moved From Extreme Rules, Possible NXT Call-Ups, More

3) What Led To Bianca Belair’s Absence On WWE Television

According to journalist Tom Colohue, there were a lot of moving parts that led to Bianca Belair being kept off television for several weeks after Wrestlemania 36. Mostly, this had to do with the Street Profits and the Viking Raiders feud lasting for months. Bianca’s absence also had to do with Sarah Logan being released from the company.

Here is what Colohue said about what happened:

“It’s the same situation as Shayna Baszler. Creative hiatus. That’s all it is. They brought her in with the idea being that The Street Profits and Bianca Belair would be squaring off against Andrade, Angel Garza, and Zelina Vega. Of course, Austin Theory was in the group at that point, and that’s what made things difficult because they needed to tell the story with him.”

“But what happened was that the feud between The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders ended up taking months. And I liked it personally, I know not everyone will agree with that but that feud took so long and Bianca Belair, in that feud, will take on Sarah Logan. But Sarah Logan was released by the company. So, there were a lot of moving parts, and a lot of things went wrong that just resulted in a creative hiatus. But now, Bianca Belair is back. We obviously have the Street Profits vs Andrade and Angel Graza. So, we should expect to see a lot more of her.”

My Take:

  • I am a fan of Bianca and I hope that they keep her on television. She is talented and I think that she can have success on the WWE main roster.

2) How WWE Superstars Are Instructed To Tweet During Storylines

On Fightful Select (subscription required), Sean Ross Sapp provided some details on how WWE Superstars are told to use social media for their storylines.

Here is what he said (via Ringside News):

If you’re participating in a social media campaign for something promotional […] they’ll ask you to tweet about it, but won’t tell you an exact tweet to put out. They’ll supply a link, as opposed to a direct tweet script. As a part of a TV program or feud, they’ll instruct some more succinct tweets in order for their other social media to utilize as well.

My Take:

  • This does make sense. I am sure that they even have a few employees whose main job in WWE is to further feuds on social media.
