3) More Main Roster Stars Following Finn Balor’s Lead?
Triple H was recently a guest on WWE’s new podcast hosted by Corey Graves, After The Bell. During this podcast, Graves asked Triple H if we will be seeing more situations like Finn Balor returning to NXT.
Triple H hinted that we could be seeing a lot more of that. Here is what he said:
“I do, yeah, I think now this is sort of the template of whatever is on the table. I think that as… if you look at the roster, there are going to be times when they’re like, ‘look, until the next draft comes or whatever this talent is here but they’ve kind of worked with everybody, and we’re gonna finish up this program with them and then we almost kind of inherently need to sit them down for three months, or six months, or whatever that is, just to clear this up so we can get to this other side and when we do the switch it’s new again.’ Great, give ‘em to me, I’ll take ‘em. You mentioned the territories… I’ll take ‘em. Here’s the window and here’s what I’m gonna do with you in that window, for the most part, barring all the other things that could happen. It’s a cool opportunity.”
2) WWE Running 3 WarGames Matches This Year?
According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, there is talk about WWE running three WarGames matches this year.
The first-ever Women’s WarGames match was confirmed on NXT this week. It appears as if we are also heading towards a WarGames match involving the Undisputed Era. Plus, Johnson says that there has been talk about another WarGames match at Survivor Series.
Here is what he wrote:
WWE Survivor Series next month will be built around the idea that Raw, Smackdown and WWE NXT will all be competing for the first time against each other. The PPV will be tri-branded with the tagline, “Who owns the night?”
There’s been some rumblings of a Wargames match for the PPV but we haven’t confirmed that is actually the case. We keep hearing talk about it, however.
NXT is holding a Takeover the night before Survivor Series in Chicago and yesterday announced the first-ever Women’s Wargames match, so there will be two Wargames matches at Takeover, one for the men, one for the women. It could always be possible that one of those will land on Survivor, but again, that is not confirmed.
