5) Why WWE Fired One Of Smackdown’s Lead Writers
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer had some notes on why WWE fired Christopher DeJoseph. DeJoseph was serving as one of the lead writers for Smackdown over the past several months.
Here is what Meltzer wrote about what happened:
There are a lot of different versions of what happened that led to the firing of Christopher DeJoseph. The consistent stories is that he was on a Zoom conference call with Stan Stansky, the Senior Vice President of Creative Services, and Kevin Moore, the Senior Vice President of E-Commerce and Venue Merchandise. Essentially he said things that he shouldn’t have and according to some versions came off to them in a bad way, and Vince McMahon found out and that was it
My Take:
- DeJoseph did some great stuff with Lucha Underground, so I am sure that he will land on his feet. He seems to be a talented guy.
4) WWE Star Returning Soon?
According to a report from Ringside News, WWE is currently discussing Sami Zayn’s return to Smackdown. He has been out for the past few months after choosing not to working during the coronavirus pandemic.
Here is what the site wrote about Sami:
Ringside News has learned that Sami Zayn’s name is coming up backstage once again. It appears that his hiatus could be coming to an end.
My Take:
- I hope this is true as I want to see a feud between AJ Styles and Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Title. This would likely be really good and would give us some great matches.
