3) What WWE Is Considering For Their Programming
WWE recently sent out a survey to gauge fan interest. During this, they asked if a variety of things would detract from fans’ enjoyment of the program. This could be a hint at things that WWE is considering implementing on WWE television.
Here is the full list:
–Superstars in the arena as “fans”
–Matches that occur outside the arena
–Championship defenses
–Use of offsite scenes/matches
–Inclusion of celebrities
–Inclusion of more movie-like scenes and action sequences
–Fan/crowd reactions during matches
–Having Superstars as part of match commentary
–Supernatural/fantastic touches during the show
–Usage of pyrotechnics
–Outrageous moments during matches
–Matches with stipulations
–Comical/funny moments between Superstars
–Matches with unique camera angles/staging
My Take:
- With WWE’s ratings taking a dip, I am interested to see if they do try some of these.
2) Summerslam Status Being Kept Quiet In WWE
A few days ago, the Boston Mayor stated that there will be no large events, festivals, parades, or otherwise going on within his city until September. This has obviously put Summerslam on the hot seat since it is planned for the end of August in Boston.
Ringside News says that WWE brass is keeping the status of Summerslam quiet within the company:
Ringside News has learned that information has not “trickled down” within the company at all about SummerSlam. Those plans are currently still within the conversations of top brass in the company.
It was told to us “that’s something Vince and his executive office team will keep quiet except to those who need to know.” People like Paul Heyman and Bruce Prichard are likely “in the loop,” but this kind of information won’t be discussed openly until they are 100% certain about plans.
My Take:
- It will be interesting to see what happens with Summerslam. Summerslam and Wrestlemania taking place at the WWE Performance Center would be wild.
