Rumor Roundup: What Vince Thinks About Matt Riddle, WWE Changing More Title Designs? More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) WWE Changing More Title Designs?

On RAW this week, WWE unveiled a new version of the United States Title. According to Belt Fan Dan (who has broken some belt-related stories in the past), there could be more changes coming to title designs in the near future.

Dan says that WWE has had a re-designed version of the Smackdown Tag Team belts in their possession for over a year now. He also says that they will be increasing the size of the NXT Championship:

My Take:

  • I don’t hate the current tag team belts but I would be okay with something new. If they change the Smackdown tag team belts though, that means they will probably also change the RAW tag team belts too (since the designs are similar). It will be interesting to see what happens.

4) Why Recent NXT Call-Ups Disappeared From WWE Television

Brendan Vink and Shane Thorne were a part of a tag team that was led by MVP on RAW. After a few weeks, the duo disappeared from television.

According to Ringside News, Vink and Thorne were dropped from television because they were Paul Heyman projects. After Heyman was let go as the guy in charge of RAW, Vince McMahon decided that he no longer needed Vink and Thorne on the main roster:

Ringside News has learned that Vink and Thorne were dropped from their television angle because they were Paul Heyman projects. Vince McMahon’s edict to use established Superstars meant Brendan Vink and Shane Thorne didn’t fit into his new system.

Shane Thorne and Brendan Vink are still healthy and able to wrestle. Vince McMahon just suddenly had nothing for them following Paul Heyman’s exit.

My Take:

  • I definitely think that Thorne and Vink were called up too soon. They weren’t really clicking for me in their few weeks on the main roster. I would rather see both of them get a chance to shine first in NXT before coming up.
