Rumor Roundup: What Becky Lynch Has Pitched To WWE Management, Plans For NXT’s New Faction, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) The Plans For NXT’s New Faction

Over the past few weeks, NXT has featured some kidnappings during episodes. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this is going to eventually become a new faction that will be led by El Hijo del Fantasma.

Meltzer also says that this faction is going to be based on the Symbionese Liberation Army, which was a terrorist group. Here is what he wrote:

“The kidnapping spots on NXT are to lead to the introduction of Jorge Bolly, or whatever name El Hijo del Fantasma will go by. It’s the Symbionese Liberation Army storyline where the captives sympathize with their captors and Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde become his Patty Hearsts”

My Take:

  • Props to WWE for trying something different. I am a big fan of factions, so I am excited to see how this one plays out.

4) What Got Cut From Edge vs Randy Orton

According to Edge on his appearance on the After The Bell podcast, he and Randy Orton had to change a lot of their Wrestlemania 36 match at the last moment.

Edge says that at one point, they had ideas of using drones and going on the rooftop of the WWE Performance Center but these ideas got cut:

“It had to be a fight, and initially I had ideas of drones and going on rooftops and again, we’re filming during sunlight so that’s not gonna work so let’s shift focus here. How do we do this? It’s a fight. So that’s what we did. I’m very proud of it. I’m also very proud that after 9 years off I could go 40 minutes. I didn’t know.”

My Take:

  • Going on the roof would have been pretty dope. Still, I can only imagine the outrage if the match went for like 5 minutes longer.
