Rumor Roundup: Vince’s Reaction To RAW’s Declining Ratings, The Plans For Andrade & Garza At Summerslam, More

3) RAW This Week Featured Some Major Re-Writes

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, this week’s RAW taping included some major delays. Meltzer says that the show ended up being completely different from what was originally scripted. This was due to direction changes and talent not being available.

Here is what he wrote about the situation:

PWInsider first reported the delay in tapings. We were told by multiple sources last night that the planned show was being torn up last night and rewritten due to changes in plans. Some of that is likely related to the last minute change in the finish of the Asuka vs. Sasha Banks match and regarding Asuka’s match at SummerSlam where they had an original plan that is out, a secondary plan that wasn’t certain and a third plan, and a decision has to be made on what direction they are going based on who is available. Today we were told that it was a completely different show than scripted, caused by both direction changes and talent not available.

My Take:

  • I feel like WWE received more positive tests before the taping on Monday. This would explain why they were scrambling and had to re-write things at the last moment. WWE did a good job at recovering though as I thought that RAW was pretty solid this week.

2) The Plans For Kairi Sane

Kairi Sane defeated Bayley on this week’s episode of RAW. This came after rumors that Kairi will be finishing up with WWE after this latest RAW taping.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, the original plan was for WWE to do some sort of injury angle with Kairi. This would have written her off television and set up Asuka’s next feud. It is unclear if that is still WWE’s plan:

Another item scheduled for the original episode was the one talked about two weeks ago in the Observer regarding Kairi Sane leaving. There was a plan in place for tonight’s show where Sane would be written out via injury which would lead to a new feud for Asuka. It is not confirmed whether that is still on the show, but at the time tonight was Sane’s last night with the company as she will be returning to Japan after recently getting married. She may continue to be with the company while living in Japan but will not be a regular active roster performer.

My Take:

  • My prediction is that Shayna Baszler will attack Kairi Sane in the backstage area. This will be a vicious attack that writes her off television. That will set up Shayna vs Asuka at Summerslam. This is something that could have been filmed on Monday, so Kairi doesn’t even have to come back for another set of tapings.
