Rumor Roundup: Vince’s Reaction To RAW’s Declining Ratings, The Plans For Andrade & Garza At Summerslam, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Match Added To Extreme Rules At The Very Last-Minute

According to journalist Tom Colohue, WWE did not know until very late in the day on Sunday that Apollo Crews would be missing Extreme Rules. This led to WWE adding the kickoff show match at the very last-minute.

Here is what Colohue had to say about the situation:

Kevin Owens and Murphy found out very late on that they would be competing in the pre-show because WWE didn’t know about the United States Championship match until very late in the day. That’s how late it was when they found out about Apollo Crews not being ready to compete.”

My Take:

  • The only thing that I can think of is that Apollo failed a COVID-19 test in the afternoon before Extreme Rules. Any other injury, they would have likely known about before and could have planned around it. Either way, I hope that Apollo is doing well and I am excited to see him back.

4) The Original Plans For Andrade & Angel Garza At Summerslam

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE was originally planning to do a match for the RAW Tag Team Titles at Summerslam. That would be The Street Profits vs Andrade and Angel Garza.

The Street Profits defeated Andrade and Garza on RAW this week. It is now unclear if a rematch is still being planned for Summerslam or if they scrapped the match from the card.

My Take:

  • I wouldn’t mind seeing this match at the event. I also wouldn’t mind seeing Andrade vs Angel Garza. Both are good options for WWE.
