Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Why The Hair vs Hair Stipulation Was Dropped
Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were supposed to face off in a hair vs hair match at Summerslam. This ended up being changed to a loser leaves WWE match a few days before the event.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, this was changed because Sonya’s lawyer didn’t want her going to court with a shaved head. This comes after her recent home invasion, where she was the victim:
“So the reason why they switched the stipulation from the Hair vs. Hair to the Loser Leaves Town was because her lawyer basically said that with this thing going on, it’s probably not a good idea to cut your hair and get your head shaved for court…so they did an impromptu Loser Leaves Town. Maybe because of the case she’s gonna take some time off. I know there’s other projects she was looking at doing. Obviously she’s gonna be back at some point.”
My Take:
- This does make sense. I also think that WWE did a good job at changing things on the fly. I was looking forward to the hair vs hair stipulation but real life is always more important.
4) Very Late Changes Were Made To The RAW Script
According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Vince McMahon showed up 40 minutes before RAW went on the air and “ripped up the entire show”. Here is what Johnson wrote:
PWInsider.com is told that Vince McMahon arrived at the taping around that time and at that point, began changing “just about everything” that was planned.
That means most of the show this week was changed or called on the fly by Vince.
My Take:
- I feel like it was still a pretty solid episode. I enjoyed it and I don’t think that I am alone on that one.
