Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Update On Kairi Sane’s Future
Over the past few weeks, there have been some big question marks about the future of Kairi Sane in WWE. It was first rumored that Kairi could be retiring when her WWE contract expires and moving back to Japan with her husband.
Tokyo Sports is reporting that Kairi will in fact be moving back to Japan but will remain affiliated with WWE in some capacity. There is an announcement expected to be made around Summerslam. Here is what the site wrote (translation via Google Translate):
“Since she married a Japanese man on February 22, there is also a media report that ‘it is very important to move back to Japan.’
“She also told his neighbors that she wanted to return to Japan, and she was whispered to return to Japan early this year. However, it is unlikely that they will completely leave WWE and participate in other groups in Japan. Most of the argument is that the base will be moved to Japan and that it will continue to maintain friendly relations with WWE.”
“Although I don’t yet know what shape to choose, it seems that there will be some announcement by the summer festival “Summer Slam”.
My Take:
- If this is true, I definitely hope that we get Asuka vs Kairi at Summerslam before Kairi leaves. This is a match that I really want to see.
4) The Original Summerslam Plans For Roman Reigns
According to Ringside News, there were two options that were originally being discussed for Roman Reigns at Summerslam. This was prior to Reigns pulling out of Wrestlemania 36 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The site says that it was either going to be Roman vs Braun Strowman or Roman vs Bray Wyatt at the event:
Ringside News has learned WWE’s plans if Roman Reigns was able to make a return in time for the biggest party of the summer. We were told that there were two options being discussed for Roman Reigns. He was either going to face Bray Wyatt or Braun Strowman.
Roman Reigns seemingly isn’t coming back in time for those matches to happen. Now Wyatt and Strowman are currently slated to face each other at SummerSlam instead.
My Take:
- If I had to guess, WWE would have done Roman vs Braun at Summerslam. I think that they would have saved Roman vs The Fiend for Wrestlemania 37. Either way, both would have been fun matches for the event.
