Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Some WWE Superstars Have Asked To Forego Their Non-Compete Clauses
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), several (released) WWE Superstars have asked if they can forego their non-compete clauses. These clauses are usually for 90 days after a Superstar gets released.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
“Fightful has learned that multiple 2021 WWE releases have asked WWE if they can forego their non-compete clauses, anywhere ranging from the entire duration, down to just a few days before their scheduled non-competes. WWE have said to be receptive to this, with Johnny Ace being the general point of contact for wrestlers to get this approved. We haven’t heard if the wrestlers will still be paid for that period in the case of a few days, but WWE has been more lenient than ever before about inquiries regarding non-competes. We’re working to get confirmation on some of the names who have requested such.”
My Take:
- Interested to see where some of these released Superstars end up. Braun Strowman is the name that I am most interested about though.
4) WWE Interested In Bringing Back Aleister Black
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there has been a lot of internal talk in WWE about possibly bringing back Aleister Black to the company. This comes after he was released a few weeks ago.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
There continues to be a lot of talk internally, all the way up to top WWE executives that the release of Aleister Black was a premature decision. There’s been talk in recent weeks about AEW interest in him, which has sparked some additional discussion inside WWE. Whether they pull the trigger on this (similar to Triple H doing so with Samoa Joe) or not remains to be seen but there continues to be second-guessing about cutting him after spending time on rebooting his character.
My Take:
- If I was Black, I wouldn’t return. I would try my luck in AEW. Either way though, I just hope Black gets a chance to shine.
