3) Backstage Note On John Cena’s Return
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE kept John Cena’s return as a big secret backstage at Money in the Bank. There were not many people who knew about it, outside of a small circle of people.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
John Cena’s entrance last night was not listed on the run sheet for the Money in the Bank PPV and it was kept secret from most in the company beyond a small circle,
My Take:
- I assume that Roman Reigns was one of the only people who knew. I doubt many other Superstars were kept in the loop. They did a good job though as it was a fun surprise.
2) Why The Smackdown Episode In Atlanta Was Cancelled
F4WOnline has provided some additional details about why WWE cancelled the upcoming Smackdown episode in Atlanta. This is due to there being very low ticket sales for the event.
The show is now moving to Knoxville, Tennessee. Here is what the site wrote:
WWE is moving the Friday, September 17th SmackDown to Knoxville, Tennessee.
The news was first reported by PW Insider.
Originally scheduled for Atlanta, Georgia, the State Farm Arena announced on Friday that the show was canceled. Dave Meltzer noted in Sunday’s daily update that roughly 1700 tickets had been sold which was the impetus for the decision.
My Take:
- That seems rough since WWE is just returning to live shows and I figured excitement would be at an all time high.
