Rumor Roundup: Update On Two Superstars Who Disappeared From RAW, Backstage Paranoia In WWE, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Backstage Paranoia In WWE

According to WrestlingNews.co, there is a lot of paranoia backstage in WWE right now. There is a feeling that some Superstars may be on the chopping block if WWE decides to fire more talent.

The site says that Triple H takes the time to calm people down who are paranoid but that is not something that Bruce Pritchard does. In a recent rumor round-up, it was noted that Prichard has become very powerful in terms of his backstage role. Here is what the site wrote:

Triple H has been at a few SmackDown shows in recent weeks as well. We reached out to a couple of people in the company and one person told us, “Hunter takes time to talk to everyone and calm people down because there is so much paranoia backstage. It’s not the same feeling with Bruce.”

The paranoia comes from of the talent that is frustrated with their lack of TV time. The feeling among some is that they could be on the chopping block if WWE decides to release more people. There is no indication that releases are coming but we’re told that the pandemic has people uneasy about their job status since the company has no plans to run house shows anytime soon and many people are either not being used at all or being featured sporadically on the weekly shows.

My Take:

  • I definitely feel bad for a lot of the talent who feel like they are on the chopping block. It sounds like Triple H does his best to raise moral when he is around. Bruce has a different approach.

4) Backstage Reaction To The Liv Morgan Documentary

On Fightful Select (subscribe here), Sean Ross Sapp spoke about the backstage reaction to the recent documentary on Liv Morgan.

Several Superstars noted to Sapp that they can relate to all of the shiftings of plans and broken promises that happen in WWE. One talent was surprised that WWE was willing to show that all in the Liv documentary because it paints the company in a bad light:

Liv Morgan’s recent WWE Network documentary was praised and criticized within WWE over the past week. Morgan is well received as always, but the stop-start creative, changing of plans and broken promises were something that multiple WWE main roster stars from the top to the bottom of the card highlighted to Fightful when speaking about the feature this week. One wrestler said that they fear missing any time because they’re concerned they might not get on the show, and if you allow yourself to be booked poorly one week, that’s the direction your booking is usually going to go in the weeks that follow it. Another longtime wrestler said that they’re shocked that WWE was willing to put something like that on display that paints them in such a negative light considering how carefully they craft things in other regards.

My Take:

  • I am also surprised that they aired some of this stuff. It did do a good job at making me want to pull for Liv Morgan (even more), so I guess it did its job in that sense.
