1) Unique Change Possibly Being Made To Summerslam
According to some recent reports, WWE is thinking outside-of-the-box for Summerslam this year. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful first Tweeted that WWE is considering running Summerslam at an outdoor location.
This would be similar to what the UFC is doing right now with ‘fight island’. Here is what Sapp wrote:
“WWE could possibly run outdoor locations for SummerSlam, according to some of the murmurs within the company. They should. UFC got a lot of buzz for a Fight Island that looked exactly like the rest of their shows. WWE could do something different.”
Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite also noted that WWE has had internal discussions about having the event at either a beach or on a boat.
As of writing this, WWE hasn’t made a decision about the location but they are looking into unique options for the show.
My Take:
- I would love for them to do this. With no crowds, they need to be thinking outside-of-the-box as much as possible. This would be great if they can pull it off.
