Rumor Roundup: Two Top NJPW Stars Not Coming To WWE, What WWE Is Offering The Revival, More

1) Two Top NJPW Stars Are Not Coming To WWE Anytime Soon

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, two of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s biggest stars have no interest in coming to WWE anytime soon.

Meltzer mentions Will Ospreay and Jay White as guys who he has heard that aren’t interested in joining WWE for the next few years. Here is what Meltzer said (h/t to Ringside News for the quotes below):

“I think it’s kinda weird — I understand why fans would do it, but with those two guys in particular when people are like, ‘So when are they gonna come to WWE?’ It’s kinda like… well I know from talking to Jay I would say never and Will I would not say never because he kinda makes allusions that someday he might, but that someday is years and years and years away.”

“As long as he can perform at a top level he doesn’t want to go anywhere because New Japan is the top level.”

This comes after the rumors that many WWE stars want to work with Jay White and WWE has strong interest in acquiring him.

My Take:

  • Both guys are killing it right now, so I don’t blame them for not wanting to leave and come to WWE. I could see Ospreay joining WWE but several years from now. I am unsure about White.
