Rumor Roundup: Two Big Names Ruled Out As Brock Lesnar Opponents, The Smackdown Main Event Of Wrestlemania 36, More

3) Fandango’s Return Timeline

News broke a few days ago that Fandango had some surgery done to repair his injured elbow.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Fandango could be out for 6 months, which is much less than what was originally feared:

Fandango (Curtis Hussey, 38) suffered an elbow injury on the 12/11 NXT show in the match with the Singhs. You could see him holding his elbow by the end of the match. He underwent what is known as Tommy John surgery, named after the famous baseball player.

Technically it’s reconstructive surgery of the ulnar collateral ligament. He could be back in about six months, as that’s the timetable for most athletes. Baseball pitchers, who get the surgery frequently, are usually out more like 12 to 15 months because they have to regain the strength to throw hard, which a wrestler doesn’t have to do

My Take:

  • Fandango has had some brutal luck in terms of injuries over the past year. I love the Fashion Police, so I hope that he can come back strong.

2) Change Coming To The RAW Commentary Team

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Samoa Joe is officially done as a member of the RAW commentary team.

Joe will be replaced on RAW this upcoming week:

There will be a new member of the Raw announcing team for the 12/30 show as 12/23 was Joe’s last show

My Take:

  • I loved Joe on commentary and I think that he has a future in it after he hangs up the boots.
