3) Backstage Note On The Process For NXT Call-Ups
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Vince McMahon is supposed to give Triple H six months notice before an NXT call-up happens. This is something that Vince doesn’t always follow.
Here is what Meltzer said (via Ringside News):
“The idea supposedly is that Vince gives [Triple H] six months notice so they can work the guy in and finish him up do it in a way, that’s what it’s supposed to be. There’s always changes. Vince can always wake up one morning and say, ‘I want this guy — ratings are down I need some new guys,’ which may have even happened this week and then new guys are going to show up out of nowhere without the six months of planning and some of them are in the middle of NXT angles even, because that’s happened, but it’s Vince, you know it’s always Vince. All the guys who got cut, it’s Vince.”
My Take:
- At the end of the day, Vince is the guy making the final decisions. If he thinks someone from NXT will help the show right away, It makes sense for him to do whatever he wants.
2) The Plans For Eva Marie
According to @Wrestlevotes, WWE is planning to pair Eva Marie up with another talent. This talent with serve as the ‘muscle’ for Eva. Two names being discussed are Mercedes Martinez and Piper Niven.
Here is what the account Tweeted:
Hearing the plans for Eva Marie’s return include her having a “muscle” of some sorts by her side. The two names I’ve heard most discussed to pair w/ her are Mercedes Martinez -OR- NXT UK star Piper Niven.
My Take:
- I would be interested to see either of those pairings on RAW. Eva is a heat magnet, so she would likely do some great work with them.
