3) Scrapped Plans For A Female Faction In WWE
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE recent had plans for an all-female faction. This would have included Santana Garrett, Chelsea Green and Vanessa Borne. This didn’t end up happening and all three have now been released by the company.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
Santana Garrett’s release did not come as a surprise to many within the company, as she’d been called up nearly a year before and almost never used. There were several creative plans pitched for her, and a trio with Chelsea Green and Vanessa Borne nearly happened before it was nixed. We’d heard that she hadn’t been around Smackdown backstage much since she and Chelsea Green took it upon themselves to pop up backstage months ago. We’ve not heard of any significant, firm plans creatively that were ever set for her, though that doesn’t mean there weren’t any.
My Take:
- An all-female faction would have been fun. I wish they gave it a try, at least for a few weeks.
2) More Backstage Notes On Lana’s Release From WWE
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Lana’s release from WWE was a result of several different factors. One of these factors was her large contract with WWE. Another was higher-ups in WWE feeling like Lana didn’t have much chemistry with Naomi as a tag team.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
Lana’s WWE release was attributed to several factors based on those that we talked to. Higher ups didn’t feel as if she and Naomi had chemistry and the team “wasn’t working,” but Lana was also among the talent that signed a huge new deal in 2019. At the time, WWE thought they would be able to retain Rusev, now Miro, but he wouldn’t sign the contract extension they offered and left the company. At that time, WWE was offering a disproportionate amount of money to keep talent in the company, and Lana signed through 2024.
My Take:
- I am sure that Lana will land on her feet. I see her joining Rusev in AEW.
