3) Weak Ticket Sales For WWE Worlds Collide
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, ticket sales are really weak for the WWE Worlds Collide event next week.
Here is what he wrote:
There are two shows in Houston, the Rumble, and the Worlds Collide show the night before at the Toyota Center. Worlds Collide ticket sales are very weak, basically ringside and most but not all of 100s as they haven’t sold out the side of the hard camera, and the rest of the building isn’t for sale. Similarly, the 2/16 Takeover show in Portland also has a weak advance. About 60 percent of the 100s that would normally be for sale are on sale, not including what you’d expect not for sale due to the stage. They are not opening up any other seats at this point for Worlds Collide. The secondary market get in price is $26 for lower level tickets.
Portland is a little better, with about 60 percent of the 100s and 60 percent of the 200s up for sale and a $38 get in price.
My Take:
- I am not that surprised as a lot of casual fans probably don’t know what Worlds Collide is. If WWE can put on a Takeover-level show, this will maybe convince fans to buy tickets for Worlds Collide III. The card is pretty stacked and I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being a really good show.
2) WWE Changing The Structure Of Wrestlemania?
According to Justin Labar, there has been some discussion about WWE possibly turning Wrestlemania into a two-day event.
Here is what he Tweeted:
My Take:
- I think this would be great but I doubt that WWE ever pulls the trigger. I thought that Wrestle Kingdom 14 worked well with the two-day structure this year. It would be a lot of wrestling but it could work if done properly.
