Rumor Roundup: The Reason Why Wrestlemania 36 Wasn’t Postponed, How WWE Is Protecting Superstar, More

1) The Reason Why Wrestlemania 36 Wasn’t Postponed

After the news broke about Wrestlemania 36 being moved to the WWE Performance Center, many fans were confused as to why WWE didn’t just postpone the event for a few months.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer says that Vince McMahon could not confidently say that this would all blow over in the upcoming months. As a result, he wants to get the show out of the way now. Here is a quote:

And I was told that he could not confidently say that at any time that they could do this. And it was kind of put to me like “what if there’s no shows until November? What do you do?” So he just wanted to get this out of the way,

Tom Colohue is also reporting something similar. He says that WWE didn’t postpone the event because they don’t want to break their current schedule:

Sportskeeda can exclusively report that as of this morning, the WWE has moved WrestleMania in order to prevent any breaks in their current schedule, meaning that once WrestleMania is out of the way the company will continue their cyclical route towards Money in the Bank, Saudi Arabia, SummerSlam and beyond.

My Take:

  • This does make sense. How do we know that this pandemic will blow over by the Summer? If it doesn’t, WWE will have to delay storylines for even longer. Probably best to just do the show and figure it out from there. It obviously sucks for all of the fans who bought tickets and I feel terrible for them.
