3) Identity Of Carmella’s “Sommelier”
On this week’s episode of Smackdown, Carmella had her own sommelier. He ended up getting involved in the main event and was even put in ‘the Bank Statement’ by Sasha Banks.
It turns out that the sommelier was actually NXT Superstar Akeem Young. He signed with WWE in January and before that, he was an acrobat who was in Cirque de Soleil’s ‘LUZIA’ show.
My Take:
- I love finding out little tidbits like this. We will have to wait and see if they keep using him with Carmella or if this was just a one-time thing.
2) Update On Roman Reigns vs The Rock
According to a report from WrestlingNews.co, The Rock vs Roman Reigns is not going to happen at Wrestlemania 37.
This is because Vince McMahon wants the match to happen in Los Angeles. This would be in order to capitalize on the buzz that this match would generate in Hollywood. With Wrestlemania 37 likely moving away from California, this match doesn’t make sense for the event:
Roman Reigns vs. The Rock is one of the big matches fans are hoping to see at WrestleMania 37 but sources in WWE say that match is not going to happen in 2021.
A source in the company said that Vince McMahon does not feel that WrestleMania 37 would be the time for the match to happen. The source said, “Vince doesn’t know how many fans will be allowed to attend the show. He definitely wants fans there and we will probably have to implement social distancing but he would rather wait until WrestleMania 38 if Rock wants to do it but we can’t do the show in L.A. (at Staples Center) because of Covid. Vince wanted to do the match in L.A. to capitalize off the extra mainstream media buzz that would come with that match. More media outlets would attend the show because of the location and Vince wants to get as many eyes on Roman as possible.”
My Take:
- This makes sense. If The Rock vs Roman does happen, it will be massive and WWE would be smart to capitalize on all of the mainstream press that it would receive.
