Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) What Vince McMahon Thinks Of Matt Riddle
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Vince McMahon likes Matt Riddle and thinks that he is funny.
Here is what Meltzer said about Riddle (h/t to Ringside News for the quote below):
“Vince McMahon thinks Matt Riddle is funny in his own weird way, so Vince likes the guy, I don’t know if he wants to push him to a main event, but he likes him on TV doing this stuff. Vince never probably saw Fast Times at Ridgemont High and he doesn’t realize he’s doing a 40-year-old character with Jeff Spicoli. So he likes this character, he likes Matt Riddle, he just doesn’t get the bro thing, but he thinks he’s funny so we gotta keep him on TV.”
My Take:
- Riddle has been getting a lot of television time as of late, so this does make sense. It will be interesting to see if he stays in a comedic role or eventually moves up the card.
4) WWE’s Plan For New Year’s Day
It was noted recently that WWE will be taping the Christmas Day episode of Smackdown in advance. This will not be the case for the New Year’s Day episode.
According to POST Wrestling, WWE will be going live on January 1st:
Multiple people informed POST Wrestling that they will return for a live show on Friday, January 1, 2021.
My Take:
- I don’t think that New Year’s is going to be too wild anyway due to what is going on in the world right now. This seems like a reasonable decision to me.
