3) Update On NXT Contracts
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, the recent call-ups from NXT have finally spoken to WWE management about new contracts. While saying that, the money that they were offered is less than those who re-signed with the company last year.
WWE has also told them that they are open to re-negotiate after Wrestlemania 37:
We’d reported last week that several of the NXT call-ups were finally being spoken to about new WWE contracts. This was in line with what they were told when they were brought up — that the times were uncertain and eventually they’d negotiate new main roster deals. As mentioned, the money wasn’t quite up there with what a lot of wrestlers were being offered to re-sign last year, but WWE has told several of those involved that they’re open to re-negotiating after WrestleMania season next year.
My Take:
- It does make sense that the money isn’t the same due to the current pandemic. We will let you know after Wrestlemania if their contracts do get re-negotiated or if this is just WWE telling them what they want to hear.
2) Finn Balor’s Character
Mike Johnson of PWinsider was told by a reader that he is confused as to whether Finn Balor is supposed to be a heel or babyface in NXT.
Johnson says that after asking people in WWE, Balor is considered a babyface by the promotion:
I can totally see why you feel that way. In asking around this morning, I am told he is currently considered a babyface by the company.
My Take:
- I definitely like how they are blurring the lines with Balor’s character right now. He is someone that is doing some great work and I can’t wait to see more from him.
