Rumor Roundup: The Plans For Adam Cole, The New Plans For NXT, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Pete Dunne’s Contract Expiration Date

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Pete Dunne’s contract with WWE expires at the end of August.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

Pete Dunne’s deal is also coming due on either 8/31 or 9/1. He’s another super worker who has been in the system for years and should have been a main roster star, even if he started as part of a tag team, long ago.

My Take:

  • I think that Dunne will stay with WWE. We will have to wait and see though.

4) Backstage Note On The Recent WWE Releases (Part 1)

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), most of the NXT talent that were released this week have 30-day non-compete clauses.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

For those asking, the majority of the twelve WWE NXT releases have non-compete clauses that run 30 days in duration, making them available in early September. We can’t confirm this is the case across the board, and are working on getting more information on an individual basis.

My Take:

  • The only name that surprised me was Bronson Reed. I thought that he was going to the main roster.
