Rumor Roundup: The Plan For The Undertaker’s Return, AJ Styles’ New Bodyguard, More

3) Update On Paul Heyman’s Backstage Role

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful recently inquired about the status of Paul Heyman on the WWE creative team. Outside of Roman Reigns’ storylines, Sapp says he was told that it isn’t in Heyman’s job description to help out with creative.

While saying that, Heyman is willing to help if Superstars ask him for input. Here is what Sapp wrote:

Several of the infamous “catering crew” that Paul Heyman went out of his way to draft last year ended up on Smackdown, but don’t count on them getting a lot of creative influence from Heyman this go around. We we inquired, we were told it’s just not Heyman’s job description any more to help with creative outside of Roman Reigns storylines. Those that we’ve spoken to on the roster say he’s willing to help when asked for input by wrestlers, but isn’t necessarily something he is asked to do by WWE.

My Take:

  • I think that Heyman is a great resource for talent backstage and I hope that guys and girls choose to seek his advice.

2) Injury Update On Karrion Kross

Karrion Kross was forced to drop the NXT Championship after suffering a shoulder injury. We have an update to pass your way.

Kross’ wife and manager, Scarlett Bordeaux, teased on social media that Kross is getting closer to returning. Here is what she wrote:

“Everyone loves a comeback, but not everyone is willing to do what it takes. We’re getting closer… and he’s about to be the deadliest piece on the board,”

My Take:

  • I am excited to see him back. Finn Balor vs Karrion Kross is a match that would be great for the next Takeover special. Let’s hope that both are healthy enough to compete at the event.
