Rumor Roundup: The Plan For The Undertaker’s Return, AJ Styles’ New Bodyguard, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Why Jordan Omogbehin Is Being Used As AJ Styles’ Bodyguard

AJ Styles debuted a new bodyguard on the latest episode of RAW. His name is Jordan Omogbehin and he is best known for his time working as the bouncer for RAW Underground.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Jordan is being used as a bodyguard because his in-ring work has not been impressive so far. Here is what he said:

“I know that, from what I have heard from people who have watched him is that he is not that impressive when you watch him wrestle. So it’s a tricky thing. Because it’s exactly like, you can do this for a while but then where do you go because these roles usually transition to the ring and he is just, for whatever reason, he is very slow, from what I was told.”

My Take:

  • I definitely like this new pairing between Styles and Jordan. It adds an extra element to Styles and it will hopefully help Jordan with his in-ring work as he gains more experience. Seems like a win-win to win.

4) The Original Plan For John Cena At Wrestlemania 36

John Cena faced off against Bray Wyatt in a ‘Firefly Fun House’ match at Wrestlemania 36. It turns out that this wasn’t the original plan for Cena at the event.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Elias noted that he was originally supposed to face Cena at Wrestlemania 36. Here is what he said:

“New Orleans [WrestleMania 34 in 2018], I’m in the mix with John and the Undertaker. The next year, I’m in there with John and the Undertaker again – John at WrestleMania, the Undertaker the next night on Raw. I was supposed to go on and face the Undertaker at the show in Saudi Arabia. That never ended up happening because of Goldberg, but that was supposed to be my match.

“The year after was supposed to be myself against John Cena at WrestleMania in a three-year running story. Things obviously changed and that didn’t end up happening.”

My Take:

  • The Firefly Fun House match was awesome, so I am glad that it happened instead. Elias vs John Cena just doesn’t seem like a big match to me.
