Rumor Roundup: The Original Summerslam Plans For The RAW Women’s Title, Update On Evolution 2, More

1) The Original Summerslam Plans For The RAW Women’s Title

Over the past week, Charlotte Flair took to Twitter to confirm that she is taking time off from WWE right now to have surgery. This is in order to fix an issue with her breast implants.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided some details on what WWE had originally planned for Charlotte at Summerslam. It turns out that Charlotte was originally supposed to face Asuka at the event. Here is what Meltzer wrote:

Charlotte Flair on twitter on 7/12 spoke about her surgery. Basically one of her implants was leaking although it was not a health concern at this time but she needed to get it taken care of. In 2018, she got very sick because of an implant leak or rupture where silicon got into her blood and needed surgery. She said that a few months ago, she was feeling off and was told the same thing had happened. She said the surgery she is getting she hopes will solve the problem for a long time, but it is a longer recovery period than the first surgery she hoped would fix the problem. She didn’t say when she would return. She also has a television project she’s possibly doing which could delay her return. At the time of the surgery, the idea was hopeful that she would be ready for SummerSlam which I believe was the Asuka vs. Flair title match that they instead rushed to television and the story was going to play out differently but there was a creative change.

My Take:

  • I love their chemistry but it is a match that we have seen a bunch already. Personally, I would much rather see something like Asuka vs Kairi Sane at the event.
