Rumor Roundup: The Original Plans For The Top Matches At Summerslam, Concern In The WWE Locker Room, More

1) The Original Plans For The Top Matches At Summerslam

According to journalist Tom Colohue, another match between Randy Orton and Edge was originally supposed to happen at Summerslam. These plans have been nixed after Edge’s injury.

Colohue also says that the plan for Drew McIntyre at the event was originally going to be Brock Lesnar. Here is what he said:

“Orton vs. Edge was supposed to be the SummerSlam match with Brock Lesnar lined up for Drew McIntyre. Now that Edge is out of the picture, they have given Orton something to do while they work out what to do next.

If they can’t get Brock Lesnar into the country, or if they just need someone for McIntyre, we may end up with McIntyre vs. Orton, but we need to kill a little bit of time on the way.

My Take:

  • I would do McIntyre vs Orton if it was up to me. Orton is on fire right now as a heel and I think that he would be a great opponent for Drew.
