Rumor Roundup: The Internal Belief About WWE Releases, Smackdown Storyline Big With Key Demo, More

1) The Internal Belief In WWE About Releases

A few days ago, WWE released 4 Superstars: Luke Harper, Sin Cara, Konnor, and Viktor.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the internal belief within those in WWE is that more releases are coming. Here is what he wrote:

Regarding releases, within the company the belief is that there are more coming. But these things change rapidly, as for so long it was nobody getting released, then it was if they aren’t happy let them go, and then still, nobody was getting released. It is notable that everyone released was 39 or older except for Albert Hardie Jr. (ACH/Jordan Myles)

Meltzer also says that the released Superstars did not know ahead of time that it was happening:

“In what was something of a surprise, and came out of nowhere with the parties not knowing ahead of time it was happening, WWE released The Ascension, Harper and Sin Cara on 12/8.”

My Take:

  • You never want to see anybody lose their job. The four guys who were released seemed to want to leave, so that is good. I will feel bad if other guys who want to stay end up getting fired though.
